Questions

I have multiple motorcycles with different chain sizes. Do I need separate Oinkers for each one?

Yes. The dispenser is designed with exit holes that perfectly align with the link plates, ensuring an even and mess-free application. Using the wrong size will cause the lubricant to be misapplied, resulting in a mess.

How often should I lube my chain?

It’s generally recommended to lube your chain every 300-600 miles or after every ride if you're off-roading or riding in wet conditions.

What is my chain size?

You can find your chain size by checking the numbers stamped directly on the chain. If you're unsure, a quick Google search for your motorcycle's model along with "chain size" will also give you the information you need.

Do I really need to lube an O/X ring chain?

Yes, according to Regina Chain, even though O/X ring chains have internal lubrication sealed by the rings, it's still necessary to lubricate them periodically. Lubrication reduces friction and heat between the rollers and bushings, improving efficiency and extending the life of your chain and sprockets. It also helps keep the O/X rings in good condition and protects the metal components from rust and corrosion.

Can I use this with WD-40?

Using WD-40 (kerosene) on sealed chains is not recommended. It can deform the seal rings and strip away the grease on the chain's surface, leading to rust and potential chain failure. For proper maintenance, D.I.D Chain recommends using lubricants specifically designed to be seal-ring safe.

Why does my Oinker leak at the top where the straw goes in?

The inlet hole on the Oinker has a taper, so the straw needs to be pressed in firmly to create a proper seal. If it's still leaking, your straw may be too short. Try using a longer straw to ensure a snug fit and prevent leakage.
